A Corporate Logo and Mt. Fuji Clean-up?
At first glance, it’s not easy to see the connection between the two, but at PRIMO Japan, their connection is very important.

In the logo used by PRIMO Japan and our Group companies, the character for “people” (人) is shown in a repeating overlapping pattern forming our original logo. This shows the importance that our company places on “people” and the everlasting bond between the couple getting married, our employees, and all the other people involved with our company.

One other idea is behind this logo. As a symbol of Japan, our company felt strongly that we should adopt Mt. Fuji’s beautiful scenery reflected in the surface of the water in order to "spread the spirit of Japan and Japanese hospitality more widely overseas". We therefore incorporated this beautiful scene into our logo.

Based on suggestions by our employees, our Mt. Fuji Clean-up Activities began in 2013, shortly after we expanded our business into Hong Kong, our second base overseas after Taiwan. So that Mt. Fuji, as a symbol of Japan, continues to be forever beautiful, volunteers from all over the country continue to gather and work each year, thereby ensuring that we can also be proud of our business as a Japanese company.

At the foot of Mt. Fuji on the Asagiri Plateau (Asagiri Kogen), the site of the 2017 Mt. Fuji Clean-up. Fifteen employees from across the country, including those from Hokkaido, Tohoku, and Kansai areas, participated in this year’s clean-up activities. Although the mood on the bus on the outward journey was a lively one suited to an excursion, after talking with and listening to stories from members of the sponsoring organization, the NPO Mt. Fuji Club, and seeing both large and small pieces of litter on the side of the mountain, participants became more serious and earnest. By the time we had finished collecting around 80kg of litter, everyone was covered in sweat, but with a positive feeling of satisfaction.

This year was the fifth time we have participated in Mt. Fuji Clean-up Activities. One outcome of this year’s effort was setting a small but meaningful goal for the sixth clean-up. Participants said that next time, their goal is: “To enjoy the beautiful views of Mt. Fuji while cleaning up the mountainside.” For the past five years, it has been cloudy and rainy on the day of the clean-up. We hope that next year the participants can see the beautiful mountain ridges that have inspired our corporate logo more clearly with their own eyes.
