In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the founding of Primo Japan Inc. on April 15, 1999, a General Employee Meeting was held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. Approximately 780 people, including employees from our 88 stores nationwide and overseas, gathered together for this commemorative event. Company executives lined the entrance to the venue to greet each and every employee with smiling faces.

 

 

At the venue, it was a lively atmosphere among employees eagerly anticipating the start of the proceedings, who could be seen taking pictures and talking together. When the event finally began, all eyes turned to our Company President, Mr. Sawano, who gave the opening greetings, followed by these welcoming remarks: “We have been able to continue on this journey for twenty years now thanks to our employees. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you.” Mr. Sawano then thanked everyone once again for all their hard work.  A branding movie featuring messages from customers and employees hard at work was also shown, to the delight of all of the event participants. The event offered an enjoyable opportunity for employees to interact, exchange ideas, and form friendships with co-workers and colleagues from overseas, many of whom they would otherwise not have a chance to meet very often.

 

This time at the General Employee Meeting, a PRIMO-style “Gift Contest” based on the company philosophy of “Making PRIMO (the best) dreams into PRIMO (supreme) happiness” was held. Three people were selected from among contest participants from across Japan, for the gift entries they had prepared based on this theme and intended for the people most precious to each of them. When the winner’s introductory episode was presented, which touched on the dreams of cherished family members and partners, many employees in the audience could be seen weeping and everyone was affected by the warmth and emotional atmosphere that filled the venue.

In addition, the popular artist Play.Goose, who has been a collaborator on the I-PRIMO original brand “Proposal” campaign, paid a surprise visit in the second half of the event! Together with a performance of the song “Propose” from the I-PRIMO commercial, images from the “Surprise Proposal” campaign that took place in March were shown for the first time. When the images of popular I-PRIMO engagement rings appeared on the screen during the “Surprise Proposal” scenes, there was an audible reaction of surprise and delight from the employees in the audience, who were able to see the value and wonder in a proposal, and also the importance of the personal support they themselves offer in support of each customer’s special moment.

 

We at Primo Japan have been able to celebrate our twentieth year thanks to the warm support of all of our customers and business partners. Our whole company will continue to work with each and every one of our customers with this feeling of deep gratitude.
