Making PRIMO (the Best) Dreams into PRIMO(Supreme) Happiness.

Based on this company philosophy and our belief that just one person can make a difference to many others, our company’s PRIMO RING PROJECT CSR activities began in 2007 from our desire to shape happiness. This year marks the fourteenth year of the project. As an employee-led grassroots initiative, the projects undertaken each year continue to reflect input from our employees, many of whom are PRIMO RING PROJECT members. Since 2018, we have also engaged in a wide range of activities based on five key principles in keeping with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.

Through our ongoing RING PROJECT activities, from clean-up activities of our stores and surrounding areas and Mt. Fuji nature conservation activities, to promoting independence and realizing the dreams of young people through our “Job Practice” program and our work experience development program for junior and senior high school students, we continue to support efforts to protect the environment and promote children’s education through the cooperation of NPOs and participants in each local area. In addition to giving employees the opportunity to interact with members of their local communities and others outside the company, these initiatives also provide employees the chance to communicate with colleagues whom they might not otherwise have a chance to meet, fostering a sense of company-wide collaboration and teamwork.

Regular monthly meetings are also held via video conferencing to connect project members throughout the country. With Primo Japan stores in operation across Japan, these video conferences give our project members, participating from around the country, the chance to update their colleagues on local CSR activities, regardless of their individual location. Each year, project members are selected through a company-wide recruitment drive. In addition to our ongoing activities established at the start of the PRIMO RING PROJECT, new project members bring together new ideas and activity proposals each year that integrate with our existing efforts. In 2020, we are working to implement a gender-free working environment within the company, along with brushing up on customer support and taking steps towards a deeper consideration of nature and the environment.
