Making PRIMO (the Best) Dreams into PRIMO (Supreme) Happiness.
Based on this company philosophy, and from our desire to fulfill the dreams of as many people as possible, offering happiness in the shape of a ring, our CSR Activity, the PRIMO RING PROJECT, began in 2007 and is now in its 15th year. As a “bottom-up project” originating among our employees, each year we continue this initiative based on input from various employees, most of whom are project members.
On Wednesday, August 18th, we held our “Job Practice” to support children living in foster care facilities as they look for employment. Many of the children have a negative impression of marriage due to various circumstances, so we wanted to communicate to them the appeal of all things “bridal,” to cultivate in them brighter hopes for marriage, and motivate them to work.
This time, our Job Practice was held in remote format as a countermeasure against COVID-19 infections. A total of four high school students from foster care facilities in the suburbs of Tokyo and Kumamoto Prefecture participated. Etiquette training useful for job hunting was included in the program, and students got a sense of the importance of first impressions and a smiling face. There was also time to look at diamonds, and, although they only saw them on screen, it was impressive how participants responded with bright faces and cheerful exclamations.
In a questionnaire given after the experience, we heard from the students that they wanted to visit the actual stores.” In the future, we want to continue supporting many students.
Primo Japan operates stores not only in Japan but also in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mainland China, and, with more than 1,000 employees, we continue to grow as a global company. Although these individual initiatives are on a small scale, we believe that working together while gradually expanding the range of activities will lead us to larger initiatives, and so we continue to do whatever we can do every day.
