Each year, Primo Japan’s bridal jewelry brand I-PRIMO conducts a “Proposal Awareness Survey” to coincide with “Proposal Day”, which falls on the first Sunday in June. We are pleased to announce the publication of this year’s “Proposal Awareness Survey”, targeting men and women in their 20s and 30s, on our I-PRIMO Online Guide to Marriage Proposals.

Now in its 13th year, our “Proposal Awareness Survey” has been running since 2008. For the 2020 edition of the survey, approximately 90% of people said that a proposal is a necessary step to getting married, and, of those people, 70% said an engagement ring is required for a proposal. Over the 13 years of the survey, proposals and demand for engagement rings have risen each year, resulting in a large number of both men and women desiring a proposal featuring an engagement ring.
