On Friday, January 19, 2018, PRIMO Japan is opening its I-PRIMO Changning Raffles City Store inside “Channing Raffles City”, the new shopping center in Changning District of West Shanghai. The store is our fifth business location in mainland China following our three existing stores in Shanghai and one in Hanzhou.

Located to the west of the ever developing city of Shanghai, close to its western gateway, Hongqiao Airport, Changning is home to an increasing number of international commercial centers and foreign embassies within the Shanghai Hongqiao Bridge Economic and Technological Development Zone, which also attracts many international residents. In addition to its good geographical location, Changning boasts a population totaling 1 million just in the 3km surrounding Zhongshan Park Station in the central part of the district along with 400,000 workers. It is here that our three existing Shanghai stores are located.

Our store is opening in “Changning Raffles City”, a large-scale shopping center directly connected with Zhongshan Park Station by several lines of the Shanghai City Metro, which is also be celebrating its Grand Opening in April 2017. This facility covers a total floor area of approximately 280,000 square meters, including a retail sales area as large as 120,000 square meters over nine floors from the basement level to the seventh floor. Our company store is opening in a space on the 1st (ground) floor just inside the main entrance. Alongside globally expanding clothing, cosmetic and jewelry brands, we will offer customers in Shanghai the highest standards of Japanese product quality through the I-PRIMO brand, and attentive customer service and hospitality to give them “the shopping experience of a lifetime.”

At PRIMO Japan, we have invested substantial human resources in our business in mainland China from our main offices in Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong based on our "Global Human Resources Development Strategy: H-RING（Human Resource Initiatives for Globalization）. We have also actively provided background support and inter-group exchanges. As a result, we have earned the support of a large number of customers since last autumn, not only in Shanghai but also in Hangzhou, and, after this strong beginning our business continues to do well there. In the future, we expect our business on the Chinese mainland to exceed that of Hong Kong and Taiwan in terms of scale, and we have high expectations that our mainland China business will be the engine that drives growth in our business overseas.
