We are proud to report that PRIMO JAPAN Inc. has participated in a social action program called “Used Clothes for Vaccines” as a part of its “PRIMO RING PROJECT” CSR activities.

The program is jointly conducted by Nihon Reuse System Corporation and the NPO Japan Committee, Vaccines for the World’s Children. The goal is to support children in developing countries by vaccinating them against polio, as well as to support job creation in those countries through the sales of used clothes and/or accessories such as shoes and bags. A carton of used clothes can create an endowment large enough to vaccinate five children.

Since 2013, our “PRIMO RING PROJECT” has participated in this program owing to its accessibility and proximity to our employees and customers. In 2016, we collected 128 cartons from I-PRIMO stores/Lazare Diamond Boutiques all over Japan, which resulted in vaccinations for 640 children in total.

In April this year, we succeeded in collecting 82 cartons, enough to vaccinate 410 children. Since there are many working mothers in PRIMO JAPAN, a significant portion of the donations we received were children’s clothes, for which there is a great need in developing countries. We will participate in the program again in autumn this year, which will result in further endowment for children in the world.

Primo Japan will continue to develop our CSR activities further through the “PRIMO RING PROJECT.”
