Primo Japan Inc. today announces that it is entering the Chinese market with its new I-PRIMO Hong Kong Plaza Store in Shanghai, which opens on Friday, July 29, 2016. I-PRIMO is the leading wedding jewelry brand with sixty-five stores in Japan followed by ten in Taiwan and three in Hong Kong. The I-PRIMO Hong Kong Plaza Store in Shanghai is the first location in Mainland China. The store is operated by Primo Diamond Shanghai Trading co., LTD., a subsidiary of Primo Japan Inc. established in November 2015.

Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau published that the number of marriages in Shanghai was 146,000 in 2013, almost a quarter of the 635,000 marriages that took place in Japan in 2015. In addition, we learned that eighty percent of the marrying couples in Shanghai bought an engagement ring, while ninety-five percent had wedding rings. Both of these figures exceeds the averages in Japan. We plan to open new stores in Shanghai as the huge potential market, in order to become the leader in the wedding jewelry market.
