Primo Japan Inc. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Naoki Sawano), operator of bridal jewelry specialty stores, announces that as part of its social contribution activities, its cross-company CSR project team, Primo Ring Project, recently held a clean-up event on Mt. Fuji. The clean-up, which was held under the auspices of the Fujisan Club, an NPO, was conducted on May 22 along national highways in the area of Lake Motosu in Yamanashi Prefecture.

The day of the clean-up began with a briefing by Fujisan Club staff on how to collect trash and precautions to take when separating it. The actual clean-up turned up vast amounts of trash the volunteers hadn’t expected to find in the mountains, including rusted pieces of metal, broken glass, and frozen food wrappers. While time was limited, the team managed to collect a truckload of garbage, making a small contribution toward the eventual listing of Mt. Fuji as a World Heritage site.

Going forward, Primo Japan will continue to promote its social action programs through the Primo Ring Project.
