Primo Japan Inc. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, Naoki Sawano), operator of bridal jewelry specialty stores, announces that on November 28, its cross-company CSR project team Primo Ring Project held a volunteer relief program at the civic hall in Kesennuma, one of the regions affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.

To date, Primo Japan Inc. has provided support following the Great East Japan Earthquake by donating funds and conducting disaster relief programs. During a project meeting held in October of last year, one project team member noted that we should focus not only on providing material support, but on emotional support, as well. The first project under this plan was held on November 30, 2011, which led to a second expanded program for this year. We discussed conducting a follow-up program with the Akaiwa Children’s Center in Kesennuma, the location of last year’s event, and it was decided that in order to enable more children to join in the fun, we would turn it into a joint Christmas party with three other nearby children’s centers. Like last year, we donated Christmas ornaments, and held a pre-Christmas charity event where mothers joined their children in having fun decorating a tree and making Christmas cards. On the day of the program, our project team members also visited the region and spent time with the approximately 100 families who had gathered for the event, decorating the tree and making Christmas cards.

Going forward, Primo Japan will continue to promote its social action programs through the Primo Ring Project
