Primo Japan Inc. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Naoki Sawano), operator of Japan’s largest chain of bridal ring specialty shops, announces that it will convert the light fixtures in 38 of its 67 bridal ring specialty shops in Japan to LED.
The Company’s bridal ring specialty shops, I-PRIMO and Lazare Diamond Boutique, carry diamond engagement rings. Because changes in the strength and color of a diamond’s sparkle can change depending on the type of light it is exposed to, our stores were equipped with halogen lighting fixtures, which give off a strong, tonal light. The LED light fixtures we will be installing give off a whiter light, somewhat like natural sunlight. By setting them at a color temperature of 4,000 Kelvins, customers will be able to see the true sparkle and color of our diamonds. A total of 1,428 of the halogen fixtures at 38 stores will be replaced with LED fixtures, a move that is also expected to contribute to energy conservation. The new fixtures will consume only about 1/6th of the power when compared to the existing halogen lights.
