~Registration as NPO J.POSH’s official sponsor and supporting our employees’ breast cancer screenings~

Primo Japan Inc. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo. CEO: Naoki Sawano), which operates Japan’s largest chain of bridal jewelry specialty stores, has registered as an official sponsor of J.POSH, an NPO, and has been taking part in the organization’s activities. In addition to donating to J.POSH, we have also decided to offer financial support to our female regular and contract employees who undergo breast cancer screening and mammograms, along with accurate information on breast cancer. This affects 25% of our employees.

The NPO J.POSH (Japan Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon Movement) was established in 2002 with this mission: “To end the sorrows caused by breast cancer in Japan.” This civic organization specializing in breast cancer awareness received the first NPO corporation certification in Japan. Their slogan is “Get a mammogram! Early Detection Means a Life of Smiles.” Activities include raising awareness and providing information about breast cancer, promoting breast cancer screening through mammograms, training medical staff specializing in breast cancer, assisting and supporting patients and their families through community activities. J.POSH work daily to promote health and to realize a society in which women, patients, and their families do not suffer needlessly.

Beginning with our cooperation with Save the Children Japan on that group’s kindergarten construction project in the mountainous areas of Vietnam, our company established a cross-departmental project in May 2008 through which company members can propose, volunteer and participate in social contribution activities. At the request of our employees, we will be continuing our Pink Ribbon Campaign.
