◆Offering A Warm Welcome (in spite of a canceled Company Entrance Ceremony)

Primo Japan welcomed our new employees joining the company in fiscal year 2020. Although we had planned to hold our Company Entrance Ceremony as usual, we decided to cancel the ceremony in order to prevent the spread of new coronavirus infections. However, in order to offer a warm welcome to our new employees, who have chosen to join our company in this next stage in their lives, we created a video letter from our President as an alternative to the ceremony, and sent it as a welcome to all of our new employees on their first day at work. In addition, we decided to postpone the new employee training that was scheduled in combination with the Company Entrance Ceremony, replacing it with the video letter and training activities provided through an e-learning system and training in stores that focused on helping employees make the transition to working life as a new company employee.

Proudly wearing their new uniforms on their first day of work, the new employees were greeted warmly by their managers and senior staff, and were each given their own name tag and special gloves embellished with our brand logo. With smiling faces, the new employees said happily, “I’m so glad to join the team at last. The President’s message made me feel even more welcome.”

For the next 10 years, each of the new employees who joined the company will enroll in “Primo College”, our company’s original training program, where they will develop the skills and sensitivity necessary to provide customers with personalized support.

Below is the President’s congratulatory message, along with comments from our new employees:

◆A Message of Congratulations from the President:

“An enjoyable life and career here, together with our customers, together with Primo Japan.”

To all of our new employees, congratulations, and welcome to Primo Japan. I was very much looking forward to meeting you all, but, as you are aware, due to the coronavirus situation, and after much deliberation, we made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Company Entrance Ceremony. However, starting today, we have all become colleagues and members of the Primo Japan family and, as such, we must each do our best to help one another. Our business is to support customers in one of life’s most important celebrations, the celebration of marriage. It is our responsibility to always think of the customer first, to share their values, and to promote their happiness. I hope that you will find an enjoyable life and career here, together with our customers, together with Primo Japan. I wish you all the very best as we begin our work together in earnest.

◆Comments from Our New Employees

Mai Ohisa : I felt really nervous on the morning of my first day, but when I put on my uniform, and was greeted by the senior staff in the store, I thought, ”I’m finally part of the team!” Also, watching the President’s message, I felt very welcome and even more like a part of Primo Japan. I was happy that the company had prepared the video message in place of the Company Entrance Ceremony. From now on, I want to set both small and larger goals for myself and, by achieving those goals, I will do my best to become a good member of society like my senior.

Saki Nishioka : I am so happy to be joining Primo Japan. Although it was unfortunate that the Company Entrance Ceremony was canceled, I think receiving the video message from our President and the e-learning training actually helped me adjust to the situation better. By working hard and starting with the basics, I will do my best to contribute fully to the company and support our customers as an employee of Primo Japan.
