On June 7 (Fri), Primo Japan will open the new I-PRIMO Store on the ground floor of INDIGO Beijing , a large commercial facility in Beijing's Chaoyang District, the capital city of China.The I-PRIMO INDIGO Beijing Store is our second store in Beijing as well as the ninth store in mainland China, following four existing store in Shanghai, two in Hangzhou and one in Shenzhen.

China’s capital city of Beijing is home to 150 million people.(*1) Located in the heart of Beijing,  Chaoyang District boasts the city’s largest land area. With the Olympic Park and numerous international hotels located here, along with the many people living in the surrounding area, a wide range of people come to Chaoyang from all over the city, from young people and families to business people. INDIGO Beijing, which opened in 2012, is one of Beijing’s largest grand-scale complexes, and has 157 tenants, including many global brands. Conveniently accessible by the adjacent subway station, Jingtai Station, the complex is packed with visitors, and also attracts people’s attention with its sophisticated glass-walled design.

 

Mainland China Business Prospects: Continued Development and Expansion through Store Openings in New Areas

 

Since opening our first store location in Shanghai in July 2016, Primo Japan has expanded to Hangzhou, Shenzhen, and to Beijing and surrounding areas. By the end of 2018, the proportion of overseas sales had reached approximately 30%. In order to reach our target of an overseas sales percentage of 40%, as outlined in our mid-term management plan, we are increasing the rate of store openings in Mainland China. The performance of our “I-PRIMO Beijing apm Store”, the first store location in Beijing, which opened in the center of the city in January, has also been very strong. We expect this second Beijing store to perform as well, and are planning to open additional store locations in new areas of Mainland China in the future.
