On January 25 (Fri), Primo Japan will first open the new I-PRIMO Store on the ground floor of Beijing apm, a landmark commercial facility in Wangfujin, a major shopping district in the capital city of China.The I-PRIMO Beijing apm Store is our first store in Beijing as well as the eighth store in mainland China, following four existing store in Shanghai, two in Hangzhou and one in Shenzhen.

China’s capital city of Beijing is home to 150 million people.* Located in the center of the city, Beijing apm is the first renewal project in Wangfujin Street, Beijing’s largest, busiest and most famous shopping street, and one of Wangfujin’s most famous landmarks. Now with a total of 218 stores in the facility, Beijing apm is home to numerous international brands targeting the younger 20-40 age groups. With direct connections to the subway, Beijing apm’s convenient location attracts crowds of shoppers looking not only for fashion brands, but also many restaurants opening their first locations in China here.

 

Overview of Our Business in Mainland China: More Store Openings in Beijing Planned for 2019

 

Since opening our first store in Mainland China in July 2016 in Shanghai, Primo Japan has expanded our business with locations in Hangzhou and Shenzhen. We expect the proportion of overseas sales as of the end of 2018 to be about 30% and will continue to focus our efforts on increasing the number of store locations and nurturing a dynamic and globally active workforce. The knowledge and experience gained from our overseas business expansion to date continues to drive our expansion into new markets. In our new Beijing stores, for example, we will appoint staff with extensive experience in multiple locations in China (Taiwan and Shanghai) as regional managers and will dispatch sales representatives from Hong Kong to our new locations in Mainland China. Through the knowledge and expertise of our globally minded staff offering our customers the experience of “Japanese hospitality”, we will continue to promote the I-PRIMO brand throughout Mainland China.
