Kobe’s Old Foreign Settlement Area: A cosmopolitan blend of history and innovation

Many historic western-style buildings survive throughout Kobe, but Kyukyoryuchi, also known as the Old Foreign Settlement Area, blends modern and international architectural elements. With the Daimaru Department Kobe Store as its center, the area has become Kobe’s new fashion center. We can expect the new store’s location in Block 32 to attract customers and shoppers browsing nearby high-end brand stores. LAZARE DIAMOND BOUTIQUE Kobe Store opened in December 2003 as specialist distributors of Lazare Diamonds through a licensing agreement with Lazare Kaplan, the New York diamond-cutting brand. The store’s traditional red and black exterior design has now been redesigned for a new, more contemporary look that blends a modern sensibility with the values of “Tradition”, “Quality” and “Reliability” that Lazare Diamonds takes pride in. The newly renovated and redesigned store’s sophisticated sense of quality is well-suited to Kobe’s Old Foreign Settlement Area.

The World’s Most Beautiful Diamond® in a high-quality space

With this relocation and renovation, we have also expanded the area of the entire store. In the new store, we have introduced a salon space based on the new store design, which not only allows customers to choose rings in a more spacious area, but also is suitable for assisting customers shopping with children and families. Further inside the store, we have also built four relaxing, private reception spaces in which our customers can view and select “The World’s Most Beautiful Diamond®” in a luxurious, private space that is designed and situated as much as possible so as not to be on open view to the entrance.
