Primo Japan Co., Ltd. (operated by Primo Global Holdings Co., Ltd.) has been awarded the Gold rating in the PRIDE Index 2023, an index that assesses LGBTQ+ initiatives in the workplace created by Work With Pride, a volunteer organization that aims to create a comfortable working environment for LGBTQ+ and other sexual minorities. This is the third year in a row that the company has been awarded Gold since 2021.

◆ Building an Inclusive Work Environment

In addition to striving to create an inclusive environment where diverse human resources can actively participate as part of our diversity management, based on our corporate philosophy of "Making PRIMO (the best) dreams into PRIMO (supreme) happiness", Primo Japan is working to promote understanding of the LGBTQ+ community within the company through LGBTQ+ e-learning for all employees, lectures by members of the community, and more.

In the PRIDE Index 2023, the company met all five criteria of Policy, Representation, Inspiration, Development, and Engagement/Empowerment for the third year in a row and was awarded the Gold rating. Primo Japan will continue working to spread understanding within the company and create a comfortable working environment for members of the LGBTQ+ community. We will also advocate for “forms of happiness not bound by gender" through participation in outside LGBTQ+ events and activities as well as proactively showcasing engagement rings and wedding rings for LGBTQ+ couples.

Created by the volunteer organization Work With Pride, the PRIDE Index was established in 2016 as the first index in Japan for assessing initiatives for LGBTQ+ and other sexual minorities in the workplace. This year marks the eighth year since its inception. The index aims to “transcend the framework of companies and organizations to make Japan a friendly working environment for members of the LGBTQ+ community" and awards ranks based on the total score of the following five criteria.
