Delving more deeply into the results of our recently released Proposal Awareness Survey, Primo Japan conducted a survey of customers planning proposals, along with couples purchasing engagement and wedding rings after completing their family registries, to learn more about engagement and wedding ring purchasing trends during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results have been posted in the I-PRIMO Online Guide to Marriage Proposals.

In our first-ever “Survey of Engagement & Wedding Ring Purchasing Trends during the COVID-19 Pandemic”, about 40% of respondents did not have a wedding ceremony or reception. In addition, among those who did not have a wedding ceremony or reception, approximately 30% of respondents said that their wedding budget was spent on engagement and wedding rings. These results suggest that there has been an increase in the value of bridal jewelry as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
